January 27th -- Tonight I am on the front stairs of the condo.  My butt is cold as it is on a surface that was probably covered in ice this morning.  I am bundled up to an uncomfortable point but it's too pretty here to waste.

Today was beyond amazing.  It started with getting up around 8:00 am and getting breakfast.  After only eating free food yesterday I was ready for some real food.  I walked along Main Street and found a wonderful place which served possibly the best omelet I have ever had.  As I was leaving I passed the two filmmakers from Iowa, so I decided to hang out with them and talk Tromadance.  After we left we went to Mother Urban's Ratskellar which is a rather large underground bar with a cinema screen inside.  Here the films started a little late.  "Doomed to Failure" played at about 11:30 to a very impressive crowd of around 100.  The response was good and people laughed in the right places which is always a relief.

I then went back to the streets. Where I met Adrien Brody and gave him a copy of "Doomed to Failure" and my reel.  For just a moment I was totally overcome.  I was this time meeting people, talking to filmmakers, and overall doing what I couldn't do previously which was take advantage of what was offered.  I met directors, actors, producers, DPs...it was a film paradise.  I also took in some Sundance screenings.  I went to the short film presentations which were mostly good.

As night wore on the parties came closer.  Prior to the Troma Party there was a panel discussion on the state of indie film.  The producers of Napoleon Dynamite were there as was a representative for SLUG Magazine, the Secondary Artist's Fund, and other sponsors.  Lloyd also sat on the panel.  It was informative and really cool to meet so many people, which seemed to be the theme for the day).  Then there were the parties.  I bounced between the Troma party and another that was happening at "The Queer Lounge."  The parties were fun and yet again I met many people who I hope to keep in touch with.  At one of the parties I talked to Tom Arnold for quite a while.  He is a great guy with a lot of energy.  I was saddened that I didn't go see his film.  After the parties I came up here and sat for a little while and marveled at the day's events.  While I did more than yesterday it was almost a repetitive of go out, introduce myself, exchange cards, and repeat.  There are so many amazing people in this industry that it makes me know why I chose to sacrifice myself to it.
